The Free Hand Collection is inspired by the young Haitian men that created the jewelry by hand. The Collection is designed to raise support not only to help provide employment for the young men, but better living and working quarters as well.
The materials here were sourced from businesses that meet the Fair Trade Goods guidelines. Here are a couple of examples of the materials we incorporated into our designs. This included Bone, Wood, Silver, Resin beads, Turquoise, Druzy, Glass Beads, and Leather.
What I did with the different beads was put them together to get an idea of contrasting colors, bead comparison, and the balance of each piece.
Here are some of the prototypes prior to the final designs for the fundraiser.
We wanted the final pieces to represent the young men who make the pieces, Haiti, and the vibrant colors.
The designs were very successful at the auction. We met out goal and more!
